Run Jordan has announced the traffic closure plan for Bromine Amman Marathon 2026, taking place on Friday, October 2, in coordination with the relevant authorities to support the safety of participants and spectators and facilitate traffic management along the race routes.
The closures will affect a number of key roads and intersections across Amman as runners make their way through the city during the 42.195 km Individual and Relay, 21 km Half Marathon, and 10 km Race.
Closures for the 42.195 km and 21 km Routes
Roads extending from New Raghadan Complex through Al-Jaish Street in both directions, Hashemite Plaza, Quraysh Street, and Ali Bin Abi Talib Street toward Al-Muhajireen Intersections, as well as Omar Al-Matar Street, King Talal Street, and Al-Hashemi Street, will be closed from 12:00 midnight until 12:00 noon.
These closures cover the shared route of the 42.195 km Individual Marathon, 42.195 km Marathon Relay, and 21 km Half Marathon, which start at 6:00 AM.
Closures for the 10 km Route
For the 10 km Race, Queen Alia Street between Sports City Circle and Interior Circle will be fully closed, along with Queen Noor Street between Interior Circle and Fourth Circle.
Closures will also include Uqba Bin Nafe’ Street and Princess Basma Street, extending toward the Hashemite Plaza area. These closures will be in effect from 6:00 AM until 12:00 noon, ahead of and during the 10 km Race, which starts at 9:00 AM.
Run Jordan is calling on motorists and residents to take the planned closures into consideration when planning their journeys on race day, allow additional travel time, use alternative routes where possible, and follow the instructions of traffic officers and relevant authorities at designated diversion points.
The traffic arrangements form part of the wider preparations for Bromine Amman Marathon 2026, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Firas bin Raad and under the theme “Run in the Heart of Amman.”
