Amman – The 16th edition of the Bromine Amman Marathon 2026 is set to take place this Friday, October 2, under the patronage of HRH Prince Firas bin Raad and under the slogan “Run in the Heart of Amman,” with runners from Jordan and abroad taking part across several race categories.

This year’s marathon has once again received the World Athletics Road Race Label for 2026, marking the second consecutive year the event has earned the international classification and continuing its presence among internationally recognized road races.

As part of the final preparations ahead of race day, the second security coordination meeting for the Bromine Amman Marathon 2026 was held Monday at the Central Amman Police Directorate, bringing together the relevant security and operational authorities to review final arrangements and ensure a high level of readiness throughout the event.

The meeting was chaired by Colonel Tareq Al-Wardat, Assistant Director of Central Amman Police, and attended by Lina El Kurd, General Manager of Run Jordan. Discussions covered security and operational arrangements, deployment plans, traffic management along the race routes, and measures to ensure the safety and security of runners, spectators, volunteers, and event staff.

The meeting also reviewed the race routes, start and finish points, temporary road closures and traffic diversions, as well as emergency response procedures and communication mechanisms among the various authorities involved before and during the marathon.

Participants included Run Jordan’s Course Director and Operations Manager, a representative from the Public Security Directorate’s Operations and Control Department, as well as representatives from the Gendarmerie Directorate, Central Traffic Department, Civil Defense, Stadium Security Unit, Criminal Investigation Department, Preventive Security Department, and the Women’s Police Directorate.

The meeting forms part of the ongoing coordination between Run Jordan, security agencies, and relevant authorities to finalize preparations for the event and ensure a safe, well-organized experience for all participants and attendees.

The Bromine Amman Marathon 2026 will feature the 42.195 km Marathon, Marathon Relay, 21 km Half Marathon, and 10 km Race, with dedicated categories for persons with disabilities in the 21 km and 10 km races.

The 42.195 km Marathon and 21 km Half Marathon will start at 6:00 a.m., while the 10 km Race will start at 9:00 a.m.
