Amman, Jordan (July 2026) – Run Jordan has announced the completion of all traffic and logistical arrangements for the inaugural Madaba Mosaic Race 2026, scheduled to take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Madaba Governorate, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Firas bin Raad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Run Jordan. The traffic plan has been prepared in full coordination with the Traffic Department and all directorates of the Public Security Directorate to ensure the safe and successful delivery of the event.
The race comes as part of Run Jordan’s efforts to promote sports tourism and highlight the rich historical and cultural heritage of Madaba. It is expected to welcome runners from Jordan and abroad for a unique sporting experience that brings together sport, history, and culture in one of the Kingdom’s most distinguished heritage destinations.
Run Jordan emphasized that the traffic management plan has been developed in cooperation with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of both participants and citizens while maintaining smooth traffic flow throughout Madaba Governorate. The association urged the public to follow traffic instructions and use alternative routes during the road closure period.
Ms. Lina El Kurd, General Manager of Run Jordan, stated that the continuous coordination with the Public Security Directorate, represented by the Traffic Department, reflects the shared commitment to organizing the race in accordance with the highest standards of safety and excellence. She noted that all partners are working collectively to provide participants with a safe and exceptional race experience while minimizing disruptions to residents and motorists.
El Kurd added that the success of major sporting events relies on strong institutional partnerships and expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Public Security Directorate, the Traffic Department, and all supporting entities in ensuring the success of this national sporting event.
The following road closures will be in effect on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 1:00 AM until 12:00 PM:
• Closure of Palestine Street in both directions, from Mount Nebo to Al Tayara Roundabout.
• Closure of Palestine Street from Al Tayara Roundabout towards the Housing Bank intersection.
• Closure of all intersections and side streets leading to Palestine Street.
• Closure of the Housing Bank intersection, Al Salam Square, and the road leading to the Great Arab Revolt Square.
• Closure of King Faisal Street, Tourist Street, Prince Hassan Street, Princess Haya Street, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Street, and the Civil Status and Passports Department traffic light intersection.
Run Jordan also confirmed the readiness of Traffic Department personnel to assist motorists in using alternative routes and managing traffic flow throughout the event. Citizens are kindly requested to refrain from stopping or parking along the designated race routes during the closure period to ensure participants' safety and facilitate traffic movement.
