Amman, Jordan (31 July 2026) – The Jordan Marathon Association (Run Jordan) celebrated the success of the inaugural Madaba Mosaic Race 2026, held under the patronage of HRH Prince Firas bin Raad, represented by His Excellency Engineer Haitham Al-Jawainat, Chairman of Madaba Municipality Committee, and organized in cooperation with Madaba Municipality, Greater Amman Municipality, and the Jordan Athletics Federation. The event witnessed wide participation from runners of different nationalities and age groups, creating an exceptional sporting and tourism experience that brought together sport, history, and culture in the city of Madaba.

The race attracted 2,000 runners across the 10 km and 5 km categories. The routes started from prominent historical landmarks, including Mount Nebo and Al Faisaliah Mosque, before finishing at the Madaba Visitors Center, allowing participants to experience a unique journey that reflects Madaba’s rich heritage and its position as one of Jordan’s most significant tourism and cultural destinations.

His Excellency Engineer Haitham Al-Jawainat, Chairman of Madaba Municipality Committee, attended the award ceremony as a representative of HRH Prince Firas bin Raad, where he honored the winners across various categories, alongside His Excellency Mr. Rami Abu Arabi, President of the Jordan Athletics Federation, Ms. Lina El Kurd, General Manager of Run Jordan,

The organization of the race comes as part of Run Jordan’s vision to expand the Kingdom’s sports events across different governorates and promote the concept of sports tourism by connecting physical activity with Jordan’s cultural and historical heritage. The event also contributes to supporting local communities and highlighting the Kingdom’s diverse tourism attractions.

El Kurd added that the strong participation demonstrates the growing interest in sports tourism in Jordan and highlights the importance of expanding sporting events across different governorates. Such events help showcase the historical and cultural landmarks that make Jordan a destination for an inspiring sporting experiences.

Run Jordan extended its appreciation and gratitude to all partners, supporters, volunteers, official entities, and security bodies that contributed to the success of this event, particularly Madaba Municipality, the Jordan Athletics Federation, the Public Security Directorate and its various departments, and all parties that helped provide a safe and exceptional experience for participants.
