Run Jordan is stepping up preparations for the Bromine Amman Marathon 2026, scheduled for Friday, October 2, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Firas bin Raad, with intensified coordination across organizational, technical, operational, security, and medical teams as the race draws closer.
As part of the ongoing preparations, General Manager Lina El Kurd held a coordination meeting with the marathon organizers to review the latest developments, key operational priorities, and the overall work plan. The meeting also focused on ensuring readiness across the different elements of the race, including the course, water stations, timing, volunteers, public safety, and supporting services.
The organizers reviewed the coordination and follow-up mechanisms that will be in place throughout the different stages of the marathon, with a focus on clear roles and responsibilities and effective communication between teams to ensure smooth operations and timely response to any developments on the ground.
Preparations also included a broader coordination meeting attended by the Course manager, Operations coordinator, and representatives from security, route closure, and medical authorities. The meeting reviewed field readiness and strengthened coordination around traffic management, medical coverage, public safety, and response procedures along the marathon course.
Representatives from the Operations and Control Department, Central Traffic Department, Women’s Police, Stadium Security Unit, Downtown Amman Police, North Amman Police, Preventive Security, Civil Defense, and Royal Medical Services took part in the meeting, discussing the operational requirements and coordination mechanisms needed to ensure the readiness of the course and race facilities.
El Kurd emphasized the importance of close coordination and integrated efforts across all participating teams and entities, noting that delivering a successful marathon requires detailed preparation and continuous follow-up across every stage of the event. She highlighted that this approach supports participant safety and experience while reflecting the standing that the Bromine Amman Marathon has built over 16 editions.
Preparations will continue throughout the week with a dedicated meeting with the Judging Committee to review the technical aspects of the races. Run Jordan will also conduct specialized field tours for course organizers in coordination with universities and volunteer organizations, providing teams with a clear understanding of their roles and designated locations along the course and further strengthening their field readiness ahead of race day.
The ongoing preparations come as Amman gets ready to host the 16th edition of the Bromine Amman Marathon under the theme “Run in the Heart of Amman.” The marathon is also entering its second consecutive year with the 2026 World Athletics Road Race Label, reinforcing its position on the international road-running calendar.
The event features the 42.195 km Individual Marathon, 42.195 km Marathon Relay, 21 km Half Marathon, and 10 km Race, with dedicated categories for persons with disabilities.
