The genocidal state of Israel destroys Gaza’s agriculture to starve genocide survivors, make Gaza unlivable and expel them.

Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, said: “At Goldsmiths, University of London, Eyal Weizman and Shourideh C. Molavi led Forensic Architecture’s Normalized Difference Vegetation Index analysis. By June 2024, it recorded the genocidal Israeli army’s destruction of approximately 83% of Gaza’s plant life, 104 of 150 square kilometers of farmland and 45% of greenhouses, with more than 47% of groundwater wells destroyed.”

“The Food and Agriculture Organization and United Nations Satellite Centre reported last month that approximately 87% of cropland and 1,094 of 1,325 hectares of greenhouses were severely damaged, the latter out of production. The April 2026 Gaza Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment recorded $1.44 billion in agrifood damage and $1.46 billion in losses. This is planned starvation,” Diliani added.

“Article 8(2)(b)(xxv) of the Rome Statute criminalizes intentionally starving civilians by depriving them of objects indispensable to survival. Starvation is among the genocidal state of Israel’s consolidated war crimes and crimes against humanity serving its declared goal of ethnic cleansing before a complicit world,” he continued.

Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that ensuring unrestricted access to farmland, water and agricultural inputs and prosecuting Israeli genocidal war criminals who impose starvation for ethnic cleansing together constitute a global responsibility.
