The state of Israel continues to block livestock feed from entering Gaza, threatening animals that remain a vital source of milk and income for families under its genocidal siege. This assault on Gaza’s food production forms part of the genocidal state of Israel’s broader policy of starving our people.
Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, said: “OCHA reports FAO distributes nearly 600 metric tons of feed monthly. Israeli restrictions have blocked entry of new barley and feed concentrate for more than 1 month. Remaining stock covers one distribution begun July 13 for about 2,200 livestock keepers. If Israel continues the blockade, agencies will have no feed in August. Since February, this scarcity tripled barley prices to $3 per kilogram and nearly doubled feed concentrate to $1.75.”
“Between November 2025 and May 2026, after the October 2025 ceasefire, sheep numbers rose 33% and goat numbers 8%. The genocidal state of Israel is erasing the recovery. Starving Gaza’s herds deprives our children of milk and herding families of income needed to remain on their land,” Diliani said.
The genocidal state of Israel is extending starvation from our families to Gaza’s surviving herds. Feed and agricultural inputs must enter without Israeli restriction. Destroying Gaza’s remaining food sources deepens hunger and dependence on aid Israel controls, creating conditions for ethnic cleansing.
