Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction addresses a measurable social reality that has sustained Zionist colonial war crimes across generations. The systematic dehumanization of our people has served as the social foundation of Israeli settler colonialism, military domination, and collective punishment. From December 2023 through the current phase of the ongoing Gaza genocide, Israeli polling institutions, academic research centers, and independent surveys have documented levels of public support for genocidal war crimes that now warrant historical scrutiny.

“Israeli public attitudes are measured,” said Dimitri Diliani, Spokesperson of Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction.
“In December 2023, the Israel Democracy Institute found that 87% of Jewish Israelis supported the genocide in Gaza. In February 2024, the same institute found that 68% of Jewish Israelis supported blocking humanitarian aid from entering Gaza. In March of this year, a survey commissioned by Pennsylvania State University found that 82% of Israeli Jews supported the ethnic cleansing of indigenous Palestinian population of Gaza, while 47% openly supported the total annihilation of Palestinian cities modeled on biblical extermination. In July of last year, polling published by the Israel Democracy Institute found that 79% of Jewish Israelis expressed little or no concern regarding reports of famine and mass civilian suffering in Gaza.”

“These figures describe a social environment where starvation of children is normalized, ethnic cleansing is legitimized, and genocide is granted public approval.”

Diliani continued: “Historical comparison sharpens the moral gravity of these numbers. Allensbach Institute data from 1941 recorded approximately 70% public approval in Nazi Germany for the exclusion of Jews from civic life. Japanese Cabinet Office surveys from 1939 documented majority public acceptance of mass violence against Chinese civilians during imperial expansion. Israeli polling during the ongoing genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank now matches and, in key indicators, surpasses, by far, these historical precedents in the public normalization of collective punishment, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.”

Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that ending Israeli genocidal war crimes against our people requires confronting the social consent that fuels it and the religious supremacist political culture embedded in Israeli law, institutions, and public life.
