As the European Union moved last Monday to sanction 3 individual Israeli terrorist settlers and 4 Israeli colonial terror organizations, including Amana, Regavim, Nachala, and HaShomer Yosh, it simultaneously preserved an economic partnership with the genocidal state of Israel worth €42.6 billion in goods trade during 2025. During that same year, the United Nations documented more than 1,800 Israeli settler terror attacks against Palestinian civilians across occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, while UNRWA reported that Israel’s Gaza ongoing genocide death toll had surpassed 72,000 Palestinians.
Dimitri Diliani, Member of the Revolutionary Council and spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction stated, “While the genocidal state of Israel was engaged in regional multi front military aggression and its genocidal army was deep into its two and a half years of genocide in Gaza, the Israeli Security Cabinet secretly approved 34 new illegitimate colonial settlements across the occupied West Bank, including 24 entirely new colonial settlements and the retroactive “legalization” of 10 Israeli terrorist outposts. These new illegitimate colonial settlements have raised the total approved by the Netanyahu and Bezalel Smotrich government to 102 new illegitimate colonial settlements since December 2022, an 80% expansion over the 127 illegitimate Israeli colonial settlements that already existed on occupied Palestinian lands before this coalition took power.”
Diliani added, “Our grandparents watched Europe redraw our homeland in 1948. We now watch Europe finance its dismemberment with contracts, trade privileges, and political protection.”
Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that no European sanction acquires political or moral substance while the European Union continues enforcing the EU–Israel Association Agreement, preserving privileged market access, scientific cooperation, investment protection, and billions of euros in annual trade with the genocidal state of Israel, whose government, military establishment, and colonial institutions continue executing genocide in Gaza, accelerating illegitimate colonial settlement expansion across our occupied homeland, and deepening the brutal infrastructure of apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and permanent colonial domination.
