The genocidal state of Israel is striking Gaza’s ancestral heritage with the same ruthless machinery it uses against Palestinian life. Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction recognizes this deliberate dispossession of ancestral heritage as a vicious instrument of colonial domination, designed to mutilate the material proof of Palestinian rootedness, sovereignty, worship, scholarship, creativity, and uninterrupted national presence.

Dimitri Diliani, Spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, said: “UNESCO has verified Israeli damage to 164 heritage sites in Gaza as of March 24, 2026, including 14 religious sites, 128 historic or artistic buildings, 3 depositories of movable cultural property, 9 monuments, 2 museums, and 8 archaeological sites. Pasha Palace, Anthedon Harbour, the Roman Cemetery, Saint Hilarion Monastery, and Saint Porphyrios Church Complex are Palestinian witnesses permanently scarred by the genocidal army of the state of Israel.”

Diliani added: “Our official documentation records 226 archaeological sites in Gaza destroyed by direct Israeli military targeting, while also documenting Israeli military looting at Pasha Palace, the Museum Hotel, Israa University Museum, the Roman Cemetery, and other sites. This is targeted Israeli civilizational theft and mutilation of our archives, sacred memory, historical identity, and living evidence of our belonging to this land.”

Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that Gaza’s heritage is protected cultural property under international humanitarian law. The state of Israel’s war crime will remain named, documented, pursued, and inseparable from its genocidal war against our people.
