𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗺, 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
On the 59th anniversary of Israel’s illegal 1967 occupation of Jerusalem, the rest of the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip, Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that the state of Israel’s 59 years of illegal military occupation constitute a genocidal colonial regime of apartheid and ethnic cleansing, sustained by messianic driven colonial domination, military terror, settlement expansion, siege, land theft, and the organized uprooting of our people from their homeland.
Dimitri Diliani, Spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, stated: “The state of Israel’s occupation is a colonial regime armed with soldiers, courts, budgets, settlers, and U.S. backed diplomatic immunity. More than 750,000 Israeli colonial settlers occupy Palestinian land in occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich advanced 2,162 new illegal colonial settlement units, including 1,006 near occupied Jerusalem, 922 near occupied Nablus, and 234 near occupied Hebron. Government backed Israeli colonial settler terrorist militias carried out more than 870 terrorist attacks in the first 5 months of this year, an average of 6 Jewish terrorist attacks against Palestinian families every day.”
Diliani added: “In Gaza, the war criminal Israeli army has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians, while Israel’s genocide remains carved into the bodies of the wounded, the deliberate starvation of families, the ruins of homes, the graves of children, and the daily machinery of Israeli extermination. In occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, the same Israeli genocidal forces and terrorist settlers’ militias have killed 1,098 Palestinians since the state of Israel launched its Gaza genocide in October 2023, including at least 240 children. The state of Israel’s occupation is a deliberate program of Palestinian ethnic cleansing, and Gaza carries its most savage and merciless face.”
Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that ending the genocide in Gaza, and securing a just political agreement in the region, is inseparable from dismantling the illegal Israeli colonial occupation that began with Israel’s war of aggression on this very day in 1967.
