The genocidal state of Israel forces childhood in occupied Palestine into the grip of military punishment, carrying brutal colonial domination from the classroom and the home to the torture chamber and the prison cell. Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that defending our children is a national duty at the heart of our struggle against the state of Israel’s brutal machinery of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Dimitri Diliani, Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction’s Spokesperson, said: “Israeli Military Court of Appeals records for 2025 alone, as cited by Military Court Watch, show that 1,137 kidnapped Palestinian children were prosecuted in Israeli military courts in the occupied West Bank.”

Diliani added: “last year, the Israeli occupation’s military prosecutor’s office introduced the designation ‘recalcitrant minor’ and applied it to children aged 14, transferring their cases from juvenile to adult military courts. Their average pretrial detention reached 142 days in torture chambers. Younger kidnapped Palestinian children averaged 38 days of torture.”

Diliani stated: “According to a UNICEF-commissioned legal audit published last April, 84% of these children were interrogated without a guardian or lawyer present. Israel ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1991, then buried our children under apartheid military orders. In 2025, administrative detention of our children without charge or trial reached 4.7 times the 2019 level, and the average age fell from 16.2 to 14.8 years.”

Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction asserts the necessity of dismantling the state of Israel’s apartheid military child detention regime, ending administrative detention, excluding coerced interrogations and imposing accountability on every Israeli military and judicial body that assaults our children through Israel’s apartheid colonial legal order.
