Administrative detention is imprisonment without trial. Through secret files, military orders, concealed evidence, and military courts, the genocidal state of Israel abducts Palestinian civilians, including children, into unlawful confinement and denies them charge, evidence, counsel, and a meaningful hearing. The genocidal state of Israel retains this inhumane colonial instrument from the British Mandate in Palestine, whose 1945 Defence Emergency Regulations entrenched emergency rule, military courts, and detention by order. The genocidal state of Israel enforces that inherited system against our people as part of its genocide, ethnic cleansing, and colonial domination, a terrorist violence rooted in its bloody establishment and imposed to this day.
Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, said: “Figures from the Israeli Prison Service, published by HaMoked, an Israeli human rights organization that monitors violations against the Palestinian people under occupation, record 3,385 Palestinians in Israeli administrative detention in January 2026 and 1,237 under Israel’s so called unlawful combatants label, a category that does not exist in international law. Since the state of Israel launched its genocide in October 2023, its occupation authorities have issued 10,000 administrative detention cases.”
Diliani said: “B’Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, reviewed 3,909 Israeli administrative detention orders from 2015 to July 2017 and recorded 2,441 extensions, 62.4%, and only 48 cancellations, 1.2%. Defense for Children International recorded 351 Palestinian children in Israeli torture and detention centers on December 31, 2025, including 180 children held without charge or trial.”
Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that secret files, military orders, and detention without trial constitute unlawful confinement by the genocidal state of Israel. This abduction regime must be rejected and opposed through all political, legal, and international advocacy efforts until it is fully dismantled.
