The genocidal state of Israel is enforcing a reconstruction embargo that prolongs the daily suffering of Gaza’s genocide survivors, entrenches forced displacement and drives ethnic cleansing. Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction regards Israel’s embargo on concrete, steel, water pipes and heavy machinery as a continuation of its destruction, leaving families homeless and rendering Palestinian life in genocide-ravaged Gaza unviable.

Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, said: “Last April assessment by the United Nations, European Union and World Bank records 371,888 housing units seriously damaged or destroyed, more than 1.9 million of our people forcibly displaced, an 84 percent economic contraction and $71.4 billion in recovery needs. Gaza lies beneath more than 68 million metric tons of rubble. COGAT, the Israeli authority implementing the genocidal government’s policy toward Gaza, controls the entry regime and restricts the materials our families need to rebuild.”

“Every blocked shipment prolongs homelessness, exposure, disease, starvation and forced displacement. A 2025 survey found that 82 percent of Jewish Israelis supported the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians from Gaza. That level of public support reveals the social base sustaining Israel’s project of genocide and ethnic cleansing.”

Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction affirms that the genocidal state of Israel’s reconstruction embargo locks the devastation of genocide into enduring forced displacement, intensifies the daily suffering of survivors and makes Gaza unlivable. Ending the embargo is essential to Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction and to securing our future on our land.
